Bent grass Aerification

May 7^th we will be aerifying the bent grass putting surfaces.  This will include the chipping green, number 5 and 7.  We are holding off on the putting green due to the fact that it was just sodded.  The reason that we aerify the bent grass in May and not March is because we do not want any contamination of Poa seed. Another major factor is that Bent grass heals a lot quicker with the warmer temperatures unlike Poa that prefers cool moist conditions. Listed below is a link with  information on a product out of Korea that has great promise with eliminating Poa in bent grass putting surfaces.  I had the pleasure of shaking hands with Dr. Baird who is in charge of research with the product and was able to get us on a list to possibly get a research permit to test with.  Look under Methiozolin on this link to learn more about it.
